NOW Energy is seeking 2 experienced EHS / Safety Managers for long-term contract opportunities supporting a major Sydney data centre construction project. These are senior client-side safety positions suited to experienced construction safety professionals capable of working across complex, high-risk construction environments.

The Role
n
Acting as a senior EHS subject matter expert, you will work collaboratively with the project team, General Contractor and subcontractors to drive high standards of safety, risk management and regulatory compliance.
n
Key responsibilities will include:
n
n
Identifying and managing high-risk construction activities
n
Working with the General Contractor and subcontractors on forward safety planning
n
Conducting independent site safety audits and inspections
n
Reviewing RAMS, safe work plans, lifting plans and contractor methodologies
n
Monitoring project safety KPIs and compliance
n
Undertaking risk assessments and recommending appropriate controls
n
Investigating incidents, accidents and near misses
n
Monitoring corrective and preventative actions
n
Assessing contractor competency and safety performance
n
Supporting site meetings, daily activity briefings and management reviews
n
Developing EHS reporting and communication structures
n
Driving continuous improvement and positive safety behaviours
n
Liaising with client representatives on safety, governance and risk
n
n
The position operates as a client-side advisory and assurance role, working collaboratively with the main contractor while maintaining independent oversight of project safety performance.

About You
n
We are looking for experienced construction safety professionals with a proven ability to operate in major and technically complex project environments. Ideally, you will have:
n
n
Significant EHS / WHS experience within major construction
n
Data centre or mission-critical construction experience highly regarded
n
Experience on major electrical, mechanical, industrial or infrastructure projects also relevant
n
Strong contractor and subcontractor management experience
n
Experience auditing complex construction activities
n
Strong knowledge of construction risk management and high-risk activities
n
Incident investigation and corrective-action experience
n
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
n
Ability to work independently and influence project teams
n
Strong leadership and coaching capability
n
n
You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced construction workplace and capable of engaging effectively with everyone from site personnel and subcontractors through to senior client and contractor management.
