Job Description
Inform Business Accounting is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join the practice on a part-time basis. The role combines client bookkeeping, payroll, BAS preparation, individual tax return preparation and business services accounting support. The position is suited to a candidate with strong Xero bookkeeping experience who is comfortable working directly with clients and who is looking to further develop accounting and taxation skills within a professional public practice environment.

Key responsibilities

Maintain bookkeeping records for a portfolio of clients using Xero
n
Process bank reconciliations and review client coding
n
Prepare journals and general ledger adjustments
n
Review and reconcile key balance sheet accounts
n
Process payroll and STP filing
n
Assist clients with Xero and general bookkeeping queries
n
Prepare monthly and quarterly BAS and IAS for review and lodgement
n
Prepare individual income tax returns for review
n
Assist with preparation of financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships and sole traders
n
Respond to client enquiries in a professional and timely manner
n
About you
n




Minimum 2 years experience in bookkeeping, payroll or accounting support
n
Strong working knowledge of Xero
n
Experience processing payroll and Single Touch Payroll reporting
n
Experience preparing BAS and reconciling GST accounts
n
Understanding of Australian taxation principles relevant to individuals and small business clients
n
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
n
Good written and verbal communication skills
n
Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise multiple client jobs
n
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
n
