Job Description
At Intelligen, we're building something different. Over the past three years, we've evolved from a bold startup to a trusted partner for some of Australia's most complex data transformations. We've helped organizations move from legacy to modern platforms, embedded governance into decision-making, and brought AI into the hands of the business, responsibly and at speed.
n
As we continue to grow, we're expanding our consulting team with senior data specialists who can help clients create clear, scalable data structures that support trusted reporting, analytics and decision-making.
n
We're looking for a Senior Data Modeler who can step in quickly, bring structure to complex information and develop models that work in practice.
n
This is not a traditional data modelling role focused only on producing diagrams and specifications. You will work directly in Databricks to profile source data, design and prototype Silver and Gold-layer models, write SQL and physically build and validate tables. You will own modelling decisions covering grain, keys, relationships, dimensional structures, data quality and business rules.
n
This is a senior role for someone who combines strong technical judgement with the confidence to work through ambiguity and make an immediate impact.
n
This role is ideal for someone who can:
n
n
Turn complex requirements into clear, scalable data models
n
Must design and implement, not hand models to engineers
n
Build trust with stakeholders and keep delivery moving
n
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Develop conceptual, logical and physical data models across enterprise data products.
n
Work directly in Databricks to profile data and design Silver and Gold-layer models.

n
Write and optimize SQL to physically build, validate and tune tables.
n
Apply Kimball and/or Data Vault approaches while maintaining consistent modelling standards and documentation.
n
Work with Data Engineers to ensure models are implemented correctly and are scalable, reusable and production-ready.
n
n
Stakeholder Leadership & Delivery
n
n
Explain and defend design decisions to business, engineering, architecture and governance stakeholders
n
Facilitate modelling workshops with business and technical stakeholders

Translate ambiguous requirements into clear modelling recommendations
n
Must operate autonomously within supplied standards and patterns
n
n
Requirements
n
n
4-5 years' enterprise data modelling experience across conceptual, logical and physical models.
n
Recent production Databricks experience, including designing and physically implementing Silver and Gold-layer tables.
n
Advanced SQL for transformation, profiling, validation, reconciliation and performance tuning.
n
Practical experience applying Kimball and/or Data Vault approaches.
n
Strong understanding of data integration, data quality, data warehousing and lakehouse architecture.
n
Strong stakeholder management and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
