The Company

Our client is an ASX-listed precious metal miner that is about to enter its long-anticipated production phase at the end of ****.
n
Holding 100% owned and operated assets in Australia they are headquartered in Sydney and are looking to establish a strong, motivated finance team.
n
The Role
n
Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, it will have multiple touch points throughout the business as well with external outsourced providers
n
It's a really unique opportunity to join a business about to enter full production phase and with that will come numerous opportunities for the roles' expansion and your career development.
n
Initially, however, the role will still retain some transactional elements before the team expands. More specifically the role will be to:
n
n
Prepare ASX statutory financial statements in line with relevant accounting standards (e.g.,AASB/IFRS) and group reporting requirements
n
Support month-end and year-end close, including journals, accruals, provisions, and balance sheet reconciliations
n
Lead the implementation of the business's ESG reporting requirements




n
Coordinate external audit processes: schedules, queries, evidence packs, and issue resolution
n
Assist with technical accounting papers/memos, including assessment of new standards and accounting treatments
n
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations (e.g., ASIC lodgements where applicable)
n
Support consolidation and reporting activities including intercompany reconciliations and eliminations
n
Partner with stakeholders across the business to improve processes, controls, and reporting quality
n
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
n

Your Background
n
To be considered for this Senior Corporate Accountant position our client has asked us to consider candidates that:
n
n
Are happy (especially initially) to roll up their sleeves in the transactional work while they build out the team.
n
Have experience in the preparation of ASX Financial Statements (either in commerce, or as a first-time mover Chartered)
n
Experience working in a heavy CAPEX-led business such a Mining / renewables or Construction / Engineering would be a big advantage
n
CA / CPA qualified
n
