Duty Manager – Magpie Sports Club

Join the Magpie Sports Club team as our next Duty Manager and be part of a role where leadership, customer service and teamwork are at the heart of what we do.

We're a proud part of Communal Group, and we're all about creating a welcoming club for our members, guests and local community. This is a hands-on role where no two shifts are the same from food and beverage and gaming to events, customer service and supporting the team on the floor.

About the role
n
As Duty Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the club during your shift and making sure our members and guests have a outstanding experience.
n
You'll be involved in:
n
n
Leading, supporting and motivating the team during each shift
n
Overseeing food, beverage, gaming and general club operations
n
Ensuring high standards of customer service
n
Managing customer enquiries and resolving issues professionally
n
Supporting the team during busy periods, functions and events
n
Ensuring responsible service of alcohol and gaming requirements are followed
n
Completing opening and closing procedures and shift handovers
n
Monitoring club presentation, cleanliness and safety
n
Managing incidents and escalating matters when required
n




Supporting training and development of team members
n
Working closely with management to ensure the club runs smoothly
n
n
About you
n
You might already be working as a Duty Manager or Supervisor, or you may be ready to take the next step into management.
n
We're looking for someone who has:
n
n
Previous experience in a club, hospitality, hotel or similar environment
n
Strong leadership and communication skills
n
A hands-on approach and the ability to lead by example
n
A genuine passion for customer service
n
The confidence to make decisions and manage situations as they arise
n
The ability to stay calm and organised in a busy environment
n
A positive attitude and a willingness to get involved
n
Current RSA/RCG and Advanced RCG
n
The ability to work across a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
n
