Roof Racks Galore is looking for a State Manager to take ownership of retail performance across our store network within the state.
n
Reporting to the General Manager – Retail, this is a hands‐on leadership role responsible for driving sales, operational excellence, customer experience and team performance across multiple locations.
n
You'll work closely with Area Leaders, Store Managers and our broader Support Office teams to ensure our stores are performing at their best.
n
What you'll be doing
n
As State Manager, you'll take ownership of the performance and operations of stores across your state, including:
n
Leading, coaching and developing Area Leaders and Store Managers
n
Driving sales performance and achievement of state revenue targets
n
Regularly visiting stores to review performance, standards and opportunities
n
Maintaining consistently high standards across customer service, merchandising, presentation and operations
n
Identifying opportunities to grow sales, improve store performance and expand into new markets
n
Developing and strengthening commercial customer relationships
n
Monitoring staffing levels, rosters, labour costs, leave and overtime
n
Overseeing inventory performance, stock accuracy, transfers and stock availability
n
Working closely with our Product and Distribution teams to improve stock flow and logistics
n
Ensuring stores maintain strong financial controls, including cash handling and banking procedures
n
Acting as an escalation point for complex customer matters
n




Driving the effective use of Retail Express (REX), CRM and other internal systems
n
Coordinating and supporting product, sales and leadership training
n
Implementing national initiatives consistently across your state
n
Ensuring stores operate in accordance with company policies, WHS requirements and relevant legislation
n
Identifying opportunities for recent stores and supporting future network growth
n
About you
n
We're looking for an experienced retail leader who is comfortable balancing people, performance and operations.
n
You'll ideally bring:
n
Proven experience in multi‐site retail management, Area Management, State Management or a similar leadership role
n
Strong commercial acumen and a demonstrated ability to drive sales and operational performance
n
Experience leading and developing Store Managers and multi‐location teams
n
Strong communication, coaching and relationship‐building skills
n
Confidence analysing store performance and turning opportunities into action
n
Strong problem‐solving, negotiation and decision‐making skills
n
Experience with inventory management, retail operations and customer service
n
Confidence using retail and CRM systems – experience with Retail Express (REX) would be highly regarded
n




The ability and willingness to travel regularly between stores within your state
n
Flexibility to support stores when operational needs require it
n
Experience within automotive accessories, 4WD, outdoor, trade or specialty retail would be highly regarded, but strong multi‐site retail leadership experience is what matters most.
n
The role
n
You'll spend your time across our store network, working directly with our leaders and teams, with a focus on being visible in stores and understanding what's happening on the ground.
n
You'll also work closely with Retail, Operations, Distribution, Product and People & Culture to deliver broader business initiatives.
