Director of Wine – Yabby Lake Cellar Door

Yabby Lake is a renowned wine producer on the Mornington Peninsula, 50 minutes from Melbourne.
n
Focused on single vineyard wines from 3 regions, Mornington Peninsula, Tasmania and Heathcote.
n
Our cellar door is located in Tuerong and is open 7 days a week for tastings and lunch.
n
POSITION OUTLINE:
n
To manage all the cellar door wine operations at Yabby Lake.
n
We require a motivated and hands‐on individual who can develop and manage the total wine experience at cellar door.
n
This is a full time position working from Tuesday‐Saturday. (adaptable)
n
Key responsibilities:
n
n
Curate the total wine experience.
n
Format restaurant wine list and by the glass offerings.
n
Train and mentor staff to develop critical wine skills.
n
Facilitate and conduct wine tastings for customers.
n
Evolve retail offering.
n
Grow direct sales, wine club and mailing list.
n
Develop key partnerships with local and regional businesses.
n
Manage and develop social media accounts and presence.
n
Assist in managing website and web sales.
n
It is a hands‐on role, combining on the tasting bench and in the office.
n

Essential experience/qualifications:
n
n
WSET qualified or equivalent.
n
Budgeting and proficient use of associated software.
n
Positive attitude.
n
Customer and sales focus.
n
Responsible service of alcohol.
n
Wine industry knowledge and experience.
