Laboratory Technician | McArthur River Mine | Northern Territory

At MRM, we're looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our team. You will work in a multidisciplinary team environment sharing knowledge, skills and experience. This role supports our operations by providing specialised process chemistry and mineral analytical services to our Mining, Metallurgy, Environment and Projects & Water departments.

Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, key responsibilities may include:
n
n
Following laboratory standards and procedures.
n
Daily sample preparation of ores and concentrates.
n
Sample collection in the plant.
n
Acid digest of solid samples and wet chemical techniques.
n
Routine operation of laboratory equipment such as XRF, ICP-OES and benchtop analysers.
n
Actively support and adhere to our safety procedures and practices.
n
Data entry and quality control.
n
Making chemical standards and solutions.
n
Clean and maintain equipment and laboratory
n
n
Successful applicants for this role will ideally have:
n
n
Attention to detail.
n
Laboratory experience/exposure,



particularly in minerals labs.
n
Good problem-solving skills.
n
Able to work alone or in groups in a fast-paced environment.
n
Strong commitment to safety.
n
Excellent communication skills.
n
Ability to perform physical work in hot and humid conditions.
n

The role will initially be offered on a 12 month fixed term basis with the potential to extend.
