n Salary: $80,000 + super | Negotiable based on experience

n Casual contract initially, with potential for permanent employment

Aura on the Rivers is a brand-new fine dining restaurant located on the waterfront in Kangaroo Point, Brisbane. We are building a passionate and supportive team ahead of our opening and are looking for an enthusiastic Sous Chef to join us as we bring the venue to life.
n
This is an exciting opportunity for a chef who wants to be involved from the beginning and have genuine creative input into the kitchen, menu and overall direction of a recent restaurant.
n
About the Role
n
Working closely with the Head Chef and management team, the Sous Chef will play an important role in establishing and maintaining a high standard of food, service and kitchen operations.
n
You will be involved in:
n
n
Supporting the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations
n
Assisting with menu development and menu design
n
Contributing creative ideas and new dishes
n
Helping establish recipes, preparation procedures and kitchen standards
n
Working with fresh, quality produce and maintaining high presentation standards
n
Assisting with ordering, stock control and kitchen organisation
n
Supporting the recruitment, training and development of kitchen staff
n
Helping build a positive, respectful and collaborative kitchen culture
n
Maintaining food safety, hygiene and workplace standards
n
Taking responsibility for the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
n
Working closely with FOH and management to deliver an exceptional guest experience
n

About You
n
We are looking for someone who is passionate about food,



enjoys working as part of a team and is excited by the opportunity to help build something from the ground up.
n
Fine dining experience is highly valued but is not essential. We are more interested in your attitude, work ethic, creativity and willingness to contribute.
n
The ideal candidate will have:
n
n
Previous experience in a Sous Chef or senior Chef position
n
Solid kitchen organisation and leadership skills
n
A genuine passion for quality food and presentation
n
The ability to work calmly and effectively in a busy kitchen
n
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
n
A creative approach to food and menu development
n
Good knowledge of food safety and kitchen procedures
n
Experience training or supervising other kitchen staff
n
Familiarity with Queensland/Australian local produce and suppliers is a bonus
n
