Personal Services Australia is seeking a reliable, professional and well-presented Hearse Driver to join our team at our Smeaton Grange site.
n
The successful applicant will be responsible for the safe, respectful and professional operation of our hearses while transporting deceased persons and supporting funeral services across Sydney and surrounding areas.
n
This is a client-facing role requiring a high level of professionalism, discretion and attention to detail. You will work closely with a variety of Funeral Directors and funeral service providers and will be expected to represent Personal Services Australia in a respectful and professional manner at all times.
n
The position is predominantly based at Smeaton Grange, however travel to other locations across Sydney Metro and Regional NSW may be required as directed.

Responsibilities
n
The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
n
n
Safely and professionally driving single and double cab hearses
n
Transporting deceased persons to and from funeral homes, churches, crematoriums, cemeteries, mortuaries and other locations
n
Working alongside a variety of Funeral Directors and funeral service providers
n
Assisting with the loading and unloading of coffins and deceased persons
n
Ensuring the hearse is presented in a clean, polished and professional condition at all times
n




Conducting basic vehicle checks and reporting any maintenance or safety issues
n
Ensuring vehicles are operated in accordance with road laws, workplace procedures and company standards
n
Maintaining a respectful, discreet and compassionate manner when dealing with Funeral Directors, families and members of the public
n
Arriving at scheduled locations on time and allowing sufficient time for preparation and travel
n
Assisting crew members with funeral transfers and other reasonable duties as required
n
Maintaining a high standard of personal presentation and professional conduct
n

Qualifications, Licenses and Skills
n
Essential
n
n
Current NSW Full Driver Licence
n
Clean driving record
n
Proven experience driving both single and double cab hearses
n
Professional, well-presented and courteous manner
n
Ability to work with a wide variety of Funeral Directors and adapt to different funeral service requirements
n
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
n
Ability to remain calm, respectful and qualified in sensitive situations
n
High level of discretion and confidentiality
n
Good general fitness and ability to assist with coffins and funeral equipment when required
n
Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
