About the Role
n
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our multidisciplinary R&D; team.
n
This is a hands-on engineering role covering new product development, existing product support and improvement, product integration, special customer projects, and the design of equipment and tooling to support manufacturing and testing.
n
Our in-house prototyping and testing capabilities allow engineers to take an active role in evaluating and improving their designs.
n
Key responsibilities
n
Contribute to new product development and product integration, and support the continuous improvement of existing products.
n
Design products with consideration for applicable standards, safety, certification requirements, manufacturability, quality and cost.
n
Take designs from concept through engineering analysis, prototyping, testing, risk assessment and production implementation.
n
Develop and review engineering drawings and technical documentation to clearly communicate manufacturing and assembly requirements.
n
Design jigs, fixtures and tooling to support product development,



manufacturing and testing.
n
Use Siemens NX for mechanical design, modelling and engineering documentation.
n
Investigate product and manufacturing issues, take ownership of the engineering response and drive practical solutions through to resolution.
n
Research and evaluate new technologies, materials and manufacturing methods.
n
Participate in design reviews and product validation activities.
n
Work collaboratively across R&D;, Production, Tooling and other teams to support successful project delivery and quality outcomes.

Qualifications
n
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
n
5+ years of relevant mechanical design and product development experience.
n
Strong practical engineering and problem-solving skills, with experience taking designs from concept through to production.
n
Proficiency in Siemens NX is preferred. Candidates without NX experience must be able to learn and adopt it quickly, as Siemens NX is our primary mechanical design platform.
n
Experience with engineering analysis, simulation and modelling.
n
Understanding of applicable product standards, compliance and certification requirements.
n
Experience working with a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environment.
n
Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering setting.
n
