We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Scrub Scout Nurse to join our agile surgical team on a part time basis . The ideal candidate will have experience in the surgical setting and be confident in supporting the surgical team in delivering the highest standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain the operating theatre and instruments for ophthalmic surgeries, including retinal cases.
Scrub and assist the surgeon during ophthalmic procedures.
Ensure strict adherence to infection control and sterile field practices.
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to facilitate effective workflow.
Manage and account for surgical instruments and consumables before, during, and after procedures.
Support and mentor junior staff when required.
Collaborate effectively with surgeons,
anaesthetists, and other perioperative team members.
Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards at all times.
Requirements:
Registered Nurse (AHPRA or equivalent).
Demonstrated experience in ophthalmology surgery is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Commitment to patient safety and high-quality clinical care
Australian work rights are required for this position.
