About the role
n
As the APS 6 Cost Recovery Officer, you will:
n
n
coordinate and manage key cost recovery processes, including monthly activity surveys, and maintenance of the ACMA activity register
n
contribute to the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of the ACMA's Activity Based Management (ABM) framework, including data collection, analysis and documentation
n
provide accurate, timely and practical advice to internal and external stakeholders on cost recovery matters
n
contribute to the preparation of CRIS and Fee Analysis Statements, ensuring compliance with legislative, policy and governance requirements
n
build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders across government, industry and the ACMA to support effective cost recovery outcomes
n
apply and maintain knowledge of the Australian Government Charging Framework and associated cost recovery policies to support informed decision‐making and compliance
n
contribute to the development and review of cost recovery policies, procedures, Accountable Authority Instructions (AAIs) and guidance materials,
identifying opportunities to improve business processes and operational efficiency
n
support a collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and undertaking other duties as required.

We are seeking a capable and team-oriented Cost Recovery Officer who can apply sound judgement, analytical skills and attention to detail in a regulatory finance environment. The ideal candidate will have:
n
n
an understanding of the Australian Government Charging Framework and Cost Recovery Guidelines
n
well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, including proficiency in Excel and financial systems
n
strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality work in a complex regulatory and financial environment
n
demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
n
strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide high-quality reports and documentation
n
a commitment to continuous improvement and quality outcomes
n
experience in cost recovery would be highly regarded; however, candidates with transferable skills and relevant experience from related fields are encouraged to apply.
