JBU Group is seeking a Civil Designer to join our Brisbane team and support the delivery of mining, infrastructure and industrial projects across Australia. This is a great opportunity for a developing designer who wants real project exposure, strong mentoring, modern design tools and a explicit pathway to Senior Civil Designer. You'll work closely with experienced engineers and designers on practical civil packages where quality and continuous learning matter.

What You'll Be Doing
n
Project scope
n
n
Roads, access tracks and civil site layouts.
n
Bulk earthworks, site grading, pads, platforms, hardstands and carparks.
n
Drainage layouts, pit and pipe systems, open channels and culverts.
n
Mining, regional infrastructure and industrial site projects.
n
n
Design & drafting support
n
n
Prepare civil design models and drawings using Civil 3D and/or 12D, supported by AutoCAD.
n
Support design documentation for roads, earthworks, grading, drainage and site infrastructure.
n
Prepare surfaces, sections, layouts and drawing packages under guidance from senior team members.
n
Assist with quantity take-offs, model checks and documentation updates.
n

Learning & coordination
n
n
Work closely with engineers, senior designers and project managers.
n
Apply JBU standards, templates and QA processes.
n
Interpret survey data, sketches and mark-ups.
n
Participate in design reviews and build capability from technical feedback.

About You




n
You're a motivated Civil Designer who wants to keep improving. You enjoy working in a team, take pride in accurate documentation, and want to learn directly from experienced engineers and designers.
n
Skills & Experience
n
n
2+ years' experience in civil design, drafting or infrastructure delivery.
n
Experience using Civil 3D and/or 12D, with AutoCAD drafting capability.
n
Understanding of civil design documentation for roads, earthworks, grading or drainage.
n
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
n
Good communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
n
n
Highly Regarded
n
n
Mining, industrial, infrastructure or land development project exposure.
n
Experience with BIM360/Autodesk Construction Cloud, Navisworks or similar systems.
n
Exposure to model QA, drawing checks and Common Data Environments.
n
Genuine interest in progressing towards a Senior Civil Designer role.
n
