Brisbane Metal Fabrication is looking for an experienced Trade Assistant / Labourer to join our growing steel fabrication team at Rocklea.
n
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, has a strong work ethic, and is confident working in a busy workshop environment. A current forklift licence and demonstrated forklift experience are essential for this position.

About the Role
n
As a Trade Assistant / Labourer, you'll work alongside our boilermakers and fabricators, helping keep workshop production running safely and efficiently.
n
Your duties will include:
n
n
Assisting boilermakers and fabricators with day-to-day production
n
Operating a forklift to move and position steel, materials and products
n
Loading and unloading deliveries using the forklift
n
General workshop labouring and material handling
n
Moving and organising steel and fabrication materials
n
Grinding, cleaning and finishing steel components
n
Preparing materials for fabrication and welding
n
Cutting and measuring materials under supervision
n
Using basic hand and power tools
n
Keeping the workshop clean, safe and organised
n
Supporting the team with general workshop duties as required
n

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is dependable, practical and willing to get stuck in.
n
Confident and competent handling steel, materials and workshop loads
n
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
n
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
n
Physically fit and capable of regular manual handling
n
Commitment to workplace safety
n
Driver's licence or reliable transport to attend work at Rocklea
n
n
Experience in a steel fabrication, manufacturing, construction or workshop environment will be highly regarded.

Working Hours
n
Monday to Thursday: 5:30am – 2:00pm
n Friday: 5:30am – 11:30am
n
