Job Description
Our valued client are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Design Manager to join their growing business to work on Class 2 Residential projects.

They are in a very solid position as a business with multiple recent projects wins.
n
They have a mixture of Head Office & Site Based roles but delivery experience is a must and you must have experience of working for a builder or builder/developer.
n
Responsibilities
n
n
Manage and oversee the pre-construction design activities across multiple construction projects
n
Collaborate with clients, project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure the project will run timely and cost-effective
n
Review project specifications and contracts to identify design requirements and constraints
n
Advise on project design schedules and budgets
n
Ensure compliance with project specifications, contracts, and applicable regulations
n
Advise on buildability and methodology
n
Monitor project progress and update senior management on key milestones and potential issues
n
Identify and resolve design-related issues and escalation issues to senior management as needed
n
Ensure that project design records and documents are accurate and up-to-date
n




Provide regular updates to senior management on project design status, including potential risks and opportunities
n
Manage the design process, including design development, design review, and design approval
n
n
Qualifications
n
n
Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management or engineering
n
5 + years of experience in design management in the construction industry
n
Experience working on Residential construction projects from $30m upwards
n
Excellent organizational and time management skills
n
Strong leadership and communication skills
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
Knowledge of construction project management tools and software
n
Understanding of construction contracts and regulatory requirements
n
Familiarity with building codes and standards
n
