The Careers Department

Job Description
Help shape how young Australians connect education with the world of work.
n
The Careers Department is looking for an ambitious, confident and relationship-driven Junior Partnerships Executive to join our growing team.
n
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to build a career in sales, media, partnerships or business development and learn how to sell a product with genuine purpose and impact.
n
You'll be working across both sides of our network - partnering with schools and educators, while also working with employers, universities and industry partners who want to connect with the next generation.
n
You don't need years of sales experience. We're looking for someone with energy, commercial instinct, confidence and a genuine appetite to learn.
n
You'll learn how to prospect, pitch, run product demonstrations, manage a sales pipeline, build proposals, negotiate partnerships and ultimately close deals.
n
If you're outstanding with people and excited by the idea of building a career in partnerships or media sales, this could be the perfect first step.
n
About the role
n
You'll support the growth of The Careers Department by building new relationships with schools, employers and industry partners across Australia.
n
The role combines business development, sales, account management and partnerships.
n
One day you might be demonstrating the TCD platform to a school principal or careers adviser. The next, you could be speaking with a major employer about how they can use TCD to build their future talent pipeline and engage thousands of students.
n
You'll be trained across the full sales process and given the opportunity to take ownership of your own pipeline from an early stage.
n
As you grow, so will the size of the clients,
partnerships and opportunities you manage.
n
What you'll be doing
n
n
Identify and approach prospective school, industry and employer partners. This includes outbound calls.
n
Make outbound calls and send targeted outreach to prospective partners
n
Learn how to run confident and engaging demonstrations of the TCD platform
n
Meet with schools to understand their careers education needs and demonstrate how TCD can support their students
n
Speak with employers and industry partners about student engagement, employer branding and future talent opportunities
n
Support the development of proposals, partnership packages and commercial opportunities
n
Maintain strong follow-up and keep CRM and pipeline information accurate and up to date
n
Attend meetings, networking events, industry events and school activations
n
Build long-term relationships with clients and identify opportunities to grow existing partnerships
n
Work closely with our partnerships, marketing, education and product teams
n
Learn how to negotiate, present and communicate with senior stakeholders
n
n
About you
n
You're ambitious, personable and excited by the idea of building a career in business development or partnerships.
n
You enjoy talking to people, you're comfortable picking up the phone and you don't mind hearing "no" on the way to getting a "yes".
n
You're commercially curious and naturally interested in understanding how businesses work.
n
Most importantly, you have the energy and appetite to learn quickly.
n
Be careful - Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs. Don't transfer any money or complete suspicious online surveys. If you see something suspicious, report this job ad.
