The Position:
n
Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a broad Group Management Accountant opportunity suited to an Accountant who is still comfortable with financial accounting while broadening out their exposure to budgeting, forecasts, analysis and business partnering.
n
Responsibilities include:
n
n
Prepare management reporting and provide meaningful commentary on financial and property performance
n
Partner with the CFO, Property Managers and department leaders to support commercial decision-making
n
Maintain and improve centre-level financial and operational reporting
n
Support month-end and year-end processes, including accruals, reconciliations and general ledger adjustments
n
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial modelling
n
Manage fortnightly payroll for mostly permanent employees
n
Prepare and lodge relevant ATO activity statements, including GST, PAYG and FBT instalments
n

Your Profile:
n
The organisation is particularly interested in attitude and cultural alignment. You will be someone who takes initiative, contributes ideas, works collaboratively and is comfortable stepping outside a narrowly defined position description when the team needs support.

You will ideally enjoy working broadly across a business and want greater exposure to management reporting, commercial analysis and business partnering.

You will bring:
n
n
CA or CPA qualification, or a relevant accounting background with appropriate experience
n
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills as you will be interfacing with managers outside of finance who are not Accountants
n
A proactive mindset and genuine interest in improving processes and reporting
n
Strong Excel, Microsoft Office and accounting systems capability
n
The willingness to work across both higher-level commercial activities and hands-on finance responsibilities
n
Retail property, shopping centre or real estate experience would be advantageous but is not essential
n
Willingness to undertake payroll. This is a small component of the role.
