Ausprospera Pty Ltd The Chef will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to a consistently high standard and contributing to the efficient day-to-day operation of the commercial kitchen.
n
Perks Salary: $79,499 TO $85,000.
n
plus superannuation, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Prepare, cook and present dishes in accordance with menu specifications and established kitchen standards;
n
Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation;
n
Assist with menu planning and development;
n
Monitor food preparation, portion control and food costs;
n
Assist with stock control, ordering and stock rotation;
n
Ensure appropriate storage and handling of food and ingredients;
n
Maintain food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards;
n
Minimise food wastage and contribute to effective cost control;
n
Coordinate with other kitchen staff during preparation and service;
n
Maintain kitchen equipment, workstations and food preparation areas to required standards;
n




and Assist with the supervision and training of junior kitchen staff where required.

Qualification & experience Applicants should have:
n
n
A relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent;
n
At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Chef;
n
Experience working in a commercial kitchen environment;
n
Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations;
n
Good understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements;
n
Ability to work effectively in a busy, high-volume kitchen;
n
Good communication and teamwork skills;
n
A reliable and professional approach to work.

Experience in seafood preparation, modern Australian cuisine or a high-volume hospitality venue will be highly regarded.
