Process Worker | The Elastomers VICFull-Time

The Elastomers is a 100% Australian-owned specialist rubber compounder with over 20 years of industry experience. We supply high-quality rubber compounds and moulded rubber products to a diverse range of industries across Australia, New Zealand and Asia, including the mining sector.

We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-focused Process Worker to join our production team.
n
About the Role
n
Reporting to the Team Leader/Production Manager, you will play an important role in the day-to-day manufacturing process, ensuring products are produced safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.
n
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in producing quality products.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
Your duties will include:
n
n
Operating molding presses and other production equipment safely and efficiently.
n
Setting up molding presses in accordance with job cards and production requirements.
n
Preparing molding blanks and metal components for production.
n
Applying adhesives to metal parts.
n
Operating clicker presses, extruders and mills.
n
Trimming, inspecting and identifying defective products.
n
Packing and palletising finished products.
n
Completing production paperwork, including timesheets.
n
Assisting with the storage of raw materials and finished products.
n
Maintaining clean and organised production and storage areas.
n
Following all workplace health and safety procedures and safe work instructions.
n
n
Working Arrangements: Monday to Friday 5am - 1:06pm
n
About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
Basic mathematics skills, including addition, subtraction and multiplication.
n
Good written and verbal communication skills.
n
The ability to read and understand workplace safety procedures written in English.
n
A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
n
A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively within a team.
n
Previous manufacturing or related industry experience (desirable).
n
Be clean-shaven or willing to maintain facial hair at no more than 1-2 days' growth, as the role requires the use of a fitted respirator to safely perform certain tasks.
n

Working Environment
n
This is a physically active manufacturing role where you can expect to:
n
n
Work indoors in a factory workplace.
n
Stand for the majority of your shift.
n
Work around production machinery.
n
Be exposed to manufacturing conditions including noise, dust, rubber fumes, solvent fumes and radiant heat from molding presses.
n
Wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety footwear, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, heat-resistant gloves and a fitted respirator where required.
n

Pre-Employment Requirements
n
The successful applicant will be required to complete a pre-employment medical, which includes:
n
n
Drug and alcohol screening.
n
Audiometric (hearing) assessment.
n
Spirometry (lung function) testing.
n
n
