Horizons College is an independent Special Assistance School based in Caboolture. We support young people for whom mainstream education has not been meaningful, providing small class sizes, individualised support and a learning environment built on respect, structure and genuine care.

We are seeking expressions of interest for one full time Science Teacher for Term 4, ****, with teaching responsibilities across both middle school (Years 7–9) and senior years (Years ***** Science in Practice).

For the right candidate, there is a genuine opportunity for this contract to extend into ****.

About the Role
n
This role involves delivering Science across both the middle and senior phases of learning. Science is a hands-on, applied subject — and at Horizons, that practical focus aligns perfectly with how we teach: explicitly, purposefully,



and always with the student in mind.

About You
n
To thrive in this role, you will demonstrate:

Current QLD Teacher Registration
n
Confidence teaching Science, with experience or strong interest in Science in Practice
n
The ability to deliver practical, hands-on learning in a structured and safe environment
n
An ability to differentiate learning for a wide range of abilities and year levels
n
Strong relational classroom management skills
n
A commitment to contributing positively to a collaborative team
n
n
Experience in a Special Assistance School or alternative setting is advantageous but not essential. What matters most is that you bring genuine care, high expectations, and a belief that every student is capable of growth.
