This is a genuine opportunity for an experienced accountant ready to take real ownership of a finance function. Our client is a privately owned land development business that has experienced significant growth over the past 10 years, with an established project pipeline and a lean, entrepreneurial team.

The role
n
Reporting to senior leadership, you'll take ownership across:
n
n
Financial reporting and financial controls across development projects
n
Compliance obligations, including BAS preparation and annual financial statements
n
Management of a junior bookkeeper, reviewing day-to-day transactional work
n
Project feasibilities and commercial analysis for new opportunities
n
Broader project work alongside the finance function
n
Liaison with external accountants on tax and reporting matters
n
n
Genuine autonomy and influence from day one, with real scope to shape how the finance function is built.
n
What they're looking for
n
CA/CPA qualified with at least 5 years' relevant experience.



Previous exposure to property development, construction or land subdivision is preferred, but the background matters less than the person. Specifically:

n
A genuine sense of ownership and accountability
n
Comfortable managing others and reviewing their work
n
Strong technical accounting, tax compliance and reporting knowledge
n
Ability to work independently within a small business environment
n
Detail-oriented with strong Excel capability
n
Collaborative, positive and happy to roll up their sleeves
n
