Homes & Granny Flats is growing rapidly, and we're opening a new manufacturing facility in Wetherill Park to support our expanding modular residential construction business.
n
We are looking for an experienced Factory Manager who knows steel framing, understands production and can take genuine ownership of the factory operation.
n
This is not a role for someone who simply wants to supervise a production line.
n
We're looking for someone who can lead people, manage production, solve problems and make sure the factory delivers quality work on time.
n
About the Role
n
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the factory, working closely with the drafting, estimating, project management and installation teams.
n
You'll take ownership of production planning, labour allocation, quality, materials, workflow and delivery schedules.
n
As this is a new facility, you'll also have the prospect to help establish the systems, processes and culture that will underpin the factory as the business grows.

What You'll Be Doing
n
Production & Factory Management
n
Manage the day-to-day operation of the Wetherill Park factory.
n
Plan production schedules and allocate labour to meet project deadlines.
n
Coordinate the manufacturing of steel frames and roof trusses.
n
Review drawings and jobs before production commences.
n
Monitor workflow, productivity and production targets.
n
Ensure materials, hardware and equipment are available when required.
n
Identify bottlenecks and resolve production issues quickly.
n




Quality & Efficiency
n
Maintain consistently high standards of workmanship and quality control.
n
Minimise rework, material wastage and unnecessary labour costs.
n
Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
n
Work with project and installation teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
n
Ensure finished products are ready for delivery and installation as scheduled.
n
Lead, mentor and develop the factory team.
n
Set clear expectations around productivity, quality and safety.
n
Create a positive, accountable and hardworking team culture.
n
Manage day-to-day performance and address issues when they arise.
n
Build a team that takes pride in its work and wants to get the job done right.
n
Safety & Compliance
n
Maintain a safe and well‐organised factory environment.
n
Ensure WHS procedures and safe working practices are followed.
n
Monitor plant, equipment and manufacturing processes for safety and compliance.
n
Promote a strong safety culture across the production team.
n
About You
n
We're looking for an experienced steel carpenter, production manager, factory manager or senior supervisor who is ready to take ownership of a growing modular granny flat manufacturing operation.
n
You'll ideally have:
n
Significant experience working with steel frames and trusses.
n
Strong residential construction or manufacturing experience.
n




Experience managing a factory, production team or similar operation.
n
Ability to read and understand architectural plans and shop drawings.
n
Experience with machinery and modern manufacturing processes.
n
Strong understanding of production scheduling and workflow.
n
Experience managing multiple projects and competing deadlines.
n
Excellent problem‐solving skills.
n
Strong leadership and communication skills and a practical, hands‐on approach to management.
n
Most importantly, you'll be someone who earns the respect of their team through knowledge, consistency and leadership.
