About the Role
n Our client, a leading Queensland Government organisation, is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Officer (PO4) to join the Coomera Connector Stage 1 project team based in Nerang.
n
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of South East Queensland's most significant transport infrastructure projects, playing a key role in environmental approvals, assessments, compliance and project delivery.
n
Working closely with the Project Manager and multidisciplinary project teams, you will provide specialist environmental expertise throughout the design and planning phases of the project.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Provide high level environmental advice on Commonwealth and State legislation, including the Setting Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act **** (EPBC Act).
n
Support the delivery of environmental approvals, permits and offsets.
n
Review environmental assessments, surveys, spatial data, Public Workplace Reports (PERs), contract specifications and audit documentation.
n
Identify environmental risks and constraints and work with project teams to implement practical solutions.
n
Provide specialist advice on environmental compliance, management and sustainability outcomes.
n
Coordinate environmental offset programs and project land management activities.
n
Liaise with internal stakeholders, government agencies, local councils and external advisors.
n
Prepare high-quality technical reports, briefing notes and correspondence.
n
Represent the project at meetings, working groups and stakeholder forums.

Skills & Experience
n
n
A Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management or Natural Resource Management from a recognised tertiary institution or equivalent qualification is mandatory.
n
Current holder of a 'C' class driver's license.
n
Experience delivering environmental approvals and compliance activities for infrastructure, transport, construction or government projects.
n
Strong knowledge of Commonwealth and Queensland environmental legislation, including the EPBC Act.
n
Experience reviewing environmental assessments, reports and technical documentation.
n
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
n
Strong written reporting and project coordination capabilities.
n
Criminal history screening will be conducted on the recommended person for this role.
