About the role:
n
This is an opportunity to be the go-to specialist for contract and tender management across two diverse and operationally important Council portfolios.
n
You'll lead contract and tender development, provide expert advice throughout the contract lifecycle and maintain a strategic view of performance, expenditure, risk and upcoming procurement requirements.
n
Working closely with operational teams, Procurement and Finance, you'll help turn service needs into effective contracts while strengthening governance, consistency and value for money.
n
You will:
n
Lead complex contract and tender development and establishment.
n
Develop specifications, scopes, evaluation criteria and performance requirements.
n
Provide expert advice on contractor performance, risks, variations and renewals.
n
Maintain oversight of a diverse contract portfolio and emerging priorities.
n
Partner with operational teams, Procurement and Finance to deliver effective outcomes.
n
Strengthen contract governance, processes and organisational capability.
n
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency and value for money.
n
Provide clear,



practical advice to senior leaders and contract owners.
n
About you:
n
You're a confident contract and procurement professional who can combine technical expertise with strong stakeholder skills.
n
You will bring:
n
Strong contract management and procurement experience.
n
Proven experience leading tenders and contract development.
n
Strong analytical, commercial and risk management capability.
n
Knowledge of public sector or local government procurement frameworks.
n
Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
n
The ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain a strategic portfolio view.
n
A practical, improvement-focused approach to governance and value for money.
