Ambient Services Group is an all-in-one commercial asset maintenance provider serving metropolitan Sydney. We work behind the scenes on some of the city's biggest buildings, offering everything from long-term asset management to emergency spot repairs.

Due to ongoing company growth, we are seeking a Senior HVAC Mechanical Engineer to join our HVAC Construction & Facility Services Division, taking a lead technical role across our commercial project portfolio.

Job tasks and responsibilities
n
n
Lead the design, specification, and execution of complex mechanical systems.
n
Oversee site inspections, diagnose technical issues, and direct remediation works.
n
Manage the preparation of tender estimates, technical documentation, and contract review.
n
Provide senior-level input into facilities engineering management and project coordination.
n
Ensure full compliance with Australian safety standards, codes, and regulations.
n
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers within the team.
n
Liaise directly with clients, contractors, and consultants on project delivery and technical outcomes.

Manage projects across construction and building consultancy engagements, from concept through to completion.

Skills and experience
n
n
Extensive experience in HVAC and mechanical systems design and delivery.
n
Strong working knowledge of Australian standards and safety regulations.
n
Proven experience preparing tenders, technical reports, and project documentation.
n
Demonstrated project management and client-facing experience.
n
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
n
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
n
Ability to lead, mentor, and develop junior engineering staff.
n
Relevant tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), with CPEng or similar accreditation highly regarded.
