Job Description
n
In this role, you will support the Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator to plan, deliver and evaluate a diverse range of activities and programs that promote the wellbeing, independence, social connection and quality of life of our residents.
n
You will play an important role in creating meaningful experiences for residents, encouraging participation and ensuring activities reflect their individual interests, needs, abilities and preferences.
n
About the role
n
As a Leisure and Lifestyle Officer, you will:
n
n
Support the planning, coordination and evaluation of engaging leisure and lifestyle programs.
n
Facilitate a wide range of recreational, social, educational and wellbeing activities.
n
Encourage residents to participate in activities that support an active and healthy lifestyle.
n
Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, friends and the wider community.
n
Support new residents to settle into the facility and feel welcomed and connected.
n
Ensure residents have opportunities to maintain meaningful social connections.
n
Contribute to innovative programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
n
Maintain appropriate documentation and contribute to quality and compliance requirements.
n
Ensure activity equipment and resources are well maintained and used effectively.
n
Participate in required training, meetings and competency development.
n
Deliver all services in a way that respects the dignity, individuality, cultural diversity and choices of our residents.

Desired Skills and Experience
n
About you
n
We are looking for someone who is warm, energetic, creative and genuinely passionate about supporting older people.
n
To be successful, you will have:
n
n
Experience working with vulnerable people, preferably in leisure and lifestyle services.
n
Experience supporting or facilitating recreational or educational programs.
n
Certificate IV in Leisure and Health, or a willingness to undertake the required studies.
n
Current First Aid Certificate.
n
Current driver's licence and willingness to obtain a Light Rigid (LR) licence.
n
Good computer and documentation skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
n
An understanding of the health and wellbeing needs of older people.
n
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
n
Excellent organisation, planning and time management skills.
n
The ability to engage positively with people from diverse backgrounds.
n
A commitment to quality, continuous improvement and person-centred care.
n
