Marland Mushrooms is looking for a hands-on, solution focused Assistant Operations Manager to join our team and help keep our operation running at its best.
This is a key leadership role for someone who can lead people, support the team and keep operations moving — with the confidence to step up and cover the Operations Manager as required.
Key responsibilities
Work closely with the Operations Manager and wider leadership team
Lead, our operational teams, alongside the Operations Manager, to achieve daily operational goals
Drive a positive, productive and accountable workplace culture
Support day-to-day operations, ensuring quality, safety and efficiency remain front of mind
Assist with planning, problem-solving and continuous improvement
Monitor performance and help teams stay on track
Step into the Operations Manager role as required, providing confident leadership and decision-making
About you
Experience in a similar role with strong people management and leadership skills
A hands-on, practical approach to operations
The ability to coach, motivate and support a diverse team
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Strong organisation and problem-solving ability
Confidence making decisions and taking ownership
The ability to remain calm and effective in an setting that changes at speed
Previous experience in operations, production, manufacturing, agriculture or a similar workplace is highly regarded
