About the Role
n
Service Stream's Utilities division is seeking a motivated Trade Assistant (Mechanical and/or Electrical) to join our Brisbane team on a full-time, permanent basis.
n
Working alongside experienced electrical and mechanical trades personnel, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving essential water and wastewater infrastructure that supports local communities every day.
n
This hands-on position offers a diverse workload, including maintenance activities, equipment operation, warehouse support, procurement tasks and after-hours maintenance when required.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Assist qualified tradespeople with mechanical and electrical maintenance activities
n
Support reactive, corrective and scheduled maintenance programs
n
Operate plant, equipment and vehicles safely and effectively
n
Complete maintenance records, documentation and data entry requirements
n
Assist with deliveries, stores, procurement and warehouse activities
n
Liaise with clients and stakeholders regarding operational activities
n
Promote safe work practices and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
n
Support installation, repair and upgrade works across water and wastewater assets
n
Participate in after-hours works and emergency response activities as required
n
Learn from experienced trades personnel and develop valuable industry skills
n

About You
n

Essential Requirements
n
n
Current HR or MR Driver Licence
n
Experience working in a Trade Assistant, maintenance or similar hands-on role
n
Ability to work safely within operational and industrial environments
n
Strong communication and teamwork skills
n




Willingness to participate in training and ongoing development
n
Ability to undertake after-hours work when required
n
n
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
n
n
Experience within the water or utilities industry
n
Experience supporting mechanical or electrical maintenance activities
n
Experience operating HIAB trucks
n
Confined Space Entry certification or experience
n
National High Risk Work Licence
n
Experience completing JSEAs and associated HSE documentation
n
Knowledge of asset maintenance and infrastructure environments
n
