The Project

UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the ~140km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.
n
HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia's eastern states.
n
HumeLink is one of Australia's largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.
n
The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning ~140kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.

The Role
n
We are looking for experienced Cert III Transmission Overhead Linespersons to join our Stringing team. You will play a key role in our transmission tower construction team, working within an established team on a large scale 500kV infrastructure project.
n
This will be a full-time permanent opportunity on a FIFO/DIDO basis, based in Wagga Wagga, NSW. All flights, accommodation and meals provided in brand new camps.
n
We have multiple roster options available.
n
Your Responsibilities Will Include
n
n
Climbing of transmission structures
n
Upgrade and construction of new and existing assets
n
Study and interpret technical drawings, network line diagrams and maps
n
Liaise with Network Operator Inspectors and customers
n
Complete comprehensive risk assessments
n




Maintain work in progress plans
n
Installing and maintaining conductors, aerial equipment, and underground cables
n
Installing and maintaining all associated electrical supply equipment
n
Attending to electrical breakdowns and emergencies.
n
Adhering to site specific health and safety policies and procedures.
n
n
About You / Key Requirements
n
n
Trade Certification – Cert III ESI – Transmission Overhead (UET*****) or equivalent
n
Demonstrated working on Overhead Transmission Line projects
n
Construction Whitecard
n
High Risk Work Licenses: Rigging, Dogging, EWP and Working at Heights
n
Tower Rescue
n
Any additional HRWL applicable to the role
n
Ability to complete a pre-employment medical
n
