Part-time hours, 3 days per week (1 day WFH)
Paying circa $55-$65 per hour + super (depending on experience)
The Opportunity
An opportunity has become available for a Senior Payroll Officer to join a busy payroll function supporting approximately 1,000 employees.
Working within a highly manual payroll environment, you will play a critical role in maintaining payroll operations during a period of maternity leave cover within the team.
This role requires a strong payroll professional who can confidently manage BAU payroll responsibilities, investigate discrepancies, analyse reporting, and is comfortable processing payroll in a more manual environment.
This position will suit someone who enjoys getting into the detail, has advanced Excel skills, and can confidently work through payroll issues with minimal direction.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-end payroll processing across a workforce of circa **** employees
Managing fortnightly payroll cycles for both permanent and casual employees
Interpreting and applying Enterprise Agreement conditions and payroll legislation
Investigating payroll discrepancies and resolving payroll-related issues
Maintaining payroll accuracy, compliance and data integrity




Reviewing payroll reports and identifying anomalies
Performing payroll reconciliations and audit checks
Managing manual payroll calculations and adjustments
About You
5+ years of demonstrated experience in an end-to-end payroll processing role
Must have Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs and formula analysis
Able to work independently and take ownership of outcomes
Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
Experience working within large and complex payroll environments
Strong investigative and analytical skills
Comfortable working with manual payroll processes
High attention to detail and ability to identify issues proactively
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
