We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Development Manager - Electrical for utility-scale renewable energy systems—including solar PV, battery storage (BESS), hybrid AC/DC-coupled projects.
n
About The Role
n
The Qualified will lead:
n
n
the full development of PV, standalone BESS, and hybrid (PV+BESS) projects throughout origination to FID (Early to Late Stage), jointly with other teams (Finance, Markets, Engineering), overseeing design optimization efforts, ensuring the seamless integration of complex technologies (Solar PV + BESS) to maximize energy yield and project returns.
n
Due diligence processes for renewable energy greenfield projects acquisitions leading and coordinating all due diligence activities, evaluating existing designs, technology choices, contracts, and compliance documentation.
n
Manage Engineering and Technical consultants working on Samsung's behalf.
n
n
Identification, analysis, and mitigation of technical risks inherent in early-stage development and acquisition, ensuring all projects have a clear path to being "shovel-ready" and financeable.
n
Ensure robust governance around technical documentation, specifications, and data rooms during project handover to the E&C; team or during M&A; transactions.
n
n
Manage the preparation of preliminary designs, single-line diagrams, energy yield assessments, capacity sizing, and grid connection assumptions.
n
Manage the definition of technical configurations and layouts to assess better performance and suitability with the purpose of the projects.
n
Manage the entire DA process, including preparation of scoping reports, environmental impact studies and community engagement activities related to the Project's Planning process.
n
Manage the preparation and submission of the technical studies for the connection of the Project to the electricity grid,
from the initial preliminary enquiry up to negotiations of connection agreements.
n
Establish and maintain technical standards for development activities in Australia.
n
Ensure project designs comply with Australian standards, grid codes, and internal engineering guidelines from HQ.
n
Support Planning and Modelling activities within the Development Team.
n
Participate in project scheduling, development budgeting, and technical input into financial modelling.
n
Provide engineering and technical support during development milestones (planning approvals, grid applications, land agreements).
n
Support contract negotiation for EPC, OEMs, and BESS suppliers by providing technical requirements and alignment.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
n
n
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
n
7–12+ years' experience in managing the development of renewable energy projects (utility-scale PV, BESS or hybrid systems).
n
Knowledge about the Planning process related to obtaining environmental permits and social licenses to build and operate renewable assets in Australia.
n
Experience leading technical due diligence for M&A.;
n
Strong understanding of Australian energy market regulations, grid codes, and standards.
n
Ability to interpret technical drawings, SLDs, data sheets, and engineering documents.
n
Excellent communication skills, capable of interfacing with HQ engineering teams overseas.
