Trust & Compliance Coordinator | Prestigious Melbourne CBD Law Firm | Flexible Full time or Part-Time

Not every law firm is built the same — and this one isn't your typical one.

A prestigious, Melbourne-based firm led by a diverse group of expert lawyers, our client has built its reputation on strategic outcomes, creative problem-solving, and commercial insight over rigid, old-school process. It's a firm where people are genuinely backed — where questions are welcomed, mistakes are treated as part of learning, and you're never left to figure things out alone.

We're now looking for a Trust & Compliance Coordinator to become the backbone of this firm's trust accounting and compliance function — someone precise, trustworthy, and genuinely good at what they do, who wants to build a career somewhere that will actually invest in them.

About the Role

You'll take ownership of the firm's trust and general account transactions, working closely with the firm's lawyers to keep everything airtight, accurate, and fully compliant. Day to day, that looks like:

• Managing daily trust and general account transactions to legislative standard

• Handling controlled money accounts (CMAs) — openings, closures, reconciliations

• Processing receipting, payments, disbursements, and reconciliations with precision

• Supporting trust audits and liaising directly with lawyers on trust matters

• Administering the firm's AML/CTF Compliance Program, including client due diligence and AML record-keeping

About You

• You've worked in trust and general accounts before — ideally within a law firm but this is not essential

• You're meticulous. Details don't slip past you.

• You communicate clearly and confidently, including with senior lawyers

• You're open to building your knowledge of AML Tranche 2 laws as they roll out

Why This Role Is Worth Your Time

This is a genuine full-time or part-time prospect (3 days a week, if that's what suits you) — this firm is adaptable on how you structure it, because what matters is the quality of work, not hours clocked. You'll be joining a prestigious firm in Melbourne's CBD, working alongside a team that looks out for each other and a leadership group that's approachable rather than hierarchical. If you've worked somewhere that talked about culture but didn't live it, this is the opposite of that.

If you want to work somewhere your precision is genuinely valued — and where support isn't just a word on the careers page — this is that role.
