About the role
My Mechanic is seeking a skilled and experiencedAutomotive Technicianto join our team in Southport, QLD.
This is a full-time position where you'll play a crucial role in delivering high-quality automotive repair and maintenance services to our valued customers.
As an Automotive Technician, you will be at the heart of our operations, utilising your technical expertise to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of vehicles.
This role is essential to maintaining My Mechanic's reputation for excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
Diagnosing vehicle faults using diagnostic equipment and manual inspection techniques
Performing routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid top-ups
Repairing mechanical and electrical components including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems
Conducting pre-purchase inspections and safety checks on vehicles
Documenting all work completed and maintaining accurate service records
Communicating findings and repair recommendations to customers in a clear and professional manner
Adhering to all health and safety regulations and workshop procedures
Maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment
Contributing to team discussions and sharing knowledge with colleagues
What we're looking for
Trade qualification in automotive mechanics or equivalent relevant experience
Valid driver's licence
Proven experience working in a professional automotive workshop environment
Solid knowledge of vehicle systems including mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic components
Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and computer-based vehicle systems
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach - you will be dealing directly with customers
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and lift heavy components
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with automotive technology
