About the role
n
Barwon Health's Swanston Centre is seeking an experienced Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 4, Clinical Specialist to provide advanced clinical expertise and leadership within our acute inpatient mental health service.
n
Working alongside the NUM, CNC and ANUMs, you'll support high-quality, recovery-oriented care while building the capability of the nursing team. This is a clinically focused leadership role, with opportunities to influence practice, education and service improvement.

Key responsibilities
n
n
Provide advanced clinical leadership and expertise in acute mental health and MHIC nursing
n
Support the implementation of Safewards, reducing restrictive interventions and contemporary recovery-oriented practice
n
Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and education to nursing and direct-care staff
n
Undertake advanced clinical assessments and direct consumer care to role model best-practice nursing
n
Lead and contribute to quality improvement, clinical audits, education and service development
n
n
What we're looking for
n
n
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with 5+ years' post-registration mental health nursing experience
n
Postgraduate qualification in psychiatric/mental health nursing or specialist undergraduate psychiatric nursing qualification
n
Significant acute psychiatric inpatient experience with strong MHICN and reducing restrictive interventions knowledge
n
Sound knowledge of the Victorian Mental Health Act **** and contemporary recovery-oriented mental health practice
n
Strong clinical leadership, communication, mentoring and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
n
n
