Le Pub & Bottle Shop in the heart of Melbourne's CBD is looking for a passionate wine skilled to join our team.
n
Combining a wine retail store with a vibrant bar, this is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves food, wine and hospitality and wants to share that passion with our guests.
n
We're looking for someone with 2–3 years of experience working with wine in a retail, winery cellar door or hospitality environment, who is ready to grow their knowledge and take the next step in their wine career.
n
About the Role
n
While the role has a strong wine retail focus, hospitality experience is preferred, as you'll also be required to assist with food service and beverage service within Le Pub.
n
You'll work alongside a team dedicated to showcasing great local and European wines while helping guests discover their next favourite bottle.
n
You'll be involved across our retail and hospitality operations, including:
n
n
Advising retail and dine-in customers on wine, spirits and beer
n
Selling and serving guests, including wine pouring and food service
n
Merchandising and maintaining our wine wall and display fridges
n
Supporting the Retail Sales Manager and Principal Wine Buyer
n
Processing and fulfilling customer retail orders
n
Working with the cellar team on receiving, storage and stock allocation
n
Assisting with stocktakes
n
Briefing staff on wine products and list changes
n
Coordinating deliveries and booking couriers
n
Attending supplier and trade tastings
n




Contributing to the ongoing development of our wine offering
n
n
We're looking for someone who has:
n
n
Extensive knowledge and experience with local and European wines
n
Hold a WSET 3 or CMS certification (preferred but not essential)
n
Strong sales and customer service skills
n
Leadership qualities, including the ability to mentor colleagues
n
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
n
Robust organisational skills and the ability to multitask
n
The ability to remain calm, focused and composed during busy periods
n
Be physically fit to safely perform manual lifting of stock such as beer, sprits & wine boxes up & down stairs between cellars
n
Experience working with Bepoz and Lightyear (a bonus) and MS Office Suite
n
Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster
n
