HR Co-ordinator – Hybrid

An established and growing education organisation based in Cambridge is seeking an experienced HR Co-ordinator to join its busy HR function.
n

About the role
n
This is a newly created position supporting the HR Manager in delivering a comprehensive HR service across the organisation.
n
The successful candidate will act as a key first point of contact for employees, managers, candidates and external stakeholders. The role covers a broad range of HR administration and coordination, with significant involvement in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training and development, payroll administration and HR projects.
n
There is scope for the successful candidate to help shape the role and contribute ideas for improving HR processes and services.
n
Key responsibilities
n
n
Co-ordinate recruitment campaigns from initial planning through to appointment.
n
Prepare job adverts, role profiles and recruitment documentation.
n
Coordinate interviews, including diaries, rooms, IT, candidate communication and interview materials.
n
Support temporary recruitment and liaise with recruitment agencies.
n
Co-ordinate references, pre-employment checks and new starter arrangements.
n
Organise and deliver HR inductions and onboarding activities.
n
Act as a first point of contact for routine HR queries and elevate complex matters appropriately.
n
Support processes relating to probation, absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance matters.
n
Manage employee departures and ensure records are updated accurately.
n
Co-ordinate training and development activities.
n
Support coaching,
job-swap and secondment programmes.
n
Process HR information required for payroll and liaise with payroll teams.
n
Contribute to HR projects and identify opportunities to improve processes.
n
Process invoices and assist with HR-related budget administration.
n
Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records.
n
Provide general HR support as required.
n

About you
n
n
A degree or equivalent level of education.
n
Substantial experience working in an HR role within a busy organisation.
n
Knowledge of HR administration and coordination.
n
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
n
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
n
A professional, discreet and diplomatic approach.
n
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
n
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when working under pressure.
n
The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
n
A proactive approach and the confidence to use initiative.
n
Good numerical skills, including experience working with spreadsheets and budgets.
n
An understanding of HR policies, employment law and good HR practice.
n
A strong commitment to confidentiality, fairness and professionalism.
n

Desirable experience
n
n
Higher Education or Executive Education.
n
University systems and processes.
n
Working within a subsidiary or limited-company environment.
n
CIPD qualification or working towards one.
n
n
