Future Generation Joint Venture (FGJV) is the principal contractor for Snowy Hydro's Snowy 2.0, Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. We bring the combined engineering expertise of three companies - Italy's Webuild (formerly Salini Impregilo), Australian-based Clough and US-based Lane Construction. Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.

The Opportunity
n
As the Deputy Commercial Director, you will be a trusted strategic partner to the Project Commercial Director, leading commercial governance, contract management and risk oversight across multiple works packages. You will guide a high‐performing commercial team while driving best‐practice commercial outcomes in a challenging, fast‐paced project environment.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Provide authoritative commercial and contract advice to project leadership and delivery teams
n
Oversee claims, variations, compensation adjustments and commercial negotiations with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
n
Partner closely with production teams to ensure contractual compliance and minimise programme and cost impacts
n
Lead commercial team performance, resourcing, capability development and succession planning
n
Maintain strong commercial governance aligned with FGJV operating standards
n
Drive risk and opportunity reviews to protect and enhance project earnings
n




Manage upstream and downstream commercial relationships across a diverse stakeholder group
n
Ensure timely progress claims, payment cycles and commercial reporting
n
Oversee insurance, forecasting, financial risk and final cost outcomes
n
Champion safety, quality, environmental stewardship and compliance across all commercial activities
n
n
About You
n
You will bring:
n
n
15+ years' experience in engineering and construction, with extensive senior commercial/contract management expertise
n
A proven track record on large‐scale, complex infrastructure projects
n
Strong leadership capability with experience managing multidisciplinary commercial teams
n
Demonstrated ability working with incentivised target cost contracts
n
Sharp negotiation skills and the ability to influence at all levels
n
Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills
n
A tertiary qualification in commerce, law, construction management, quantity surveying, economics or a related field
n
n
White Card required.

Location & Working Environment

Based in Cooma, NSW, you will work across project offices and site locations set within the stunning Kosciuszko National Park region. Expect:
