Yakisan is looking for an experienced and passionate Chef de Partie / Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. Working alongside Head Chef Brandon, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, delivering consistently high standards in a fast-paced, premium dining workplace. This is an chance for a driven chef who takes pride in their craft, thrives during service and wants to continue developing within a growing hospitality team.

ABOUT YOU
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Chef de Partie or above in a premium, à la carte restaurant
Strong section management and service experience
Experience or an interest in Japanese and Korean-inspired cuisine highly regarded
Confident working in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen
Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and WHS standards
Excellent organisation and time management skills
Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
High attention to detail across preparation,



cooking and presentation
Available to work weekends, public holidays and a mix of opening and closing shifts
Qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent

THE ROLE
Manage and maintain your section to Yakisan’s standards
Prepare, cook and present dishes consistently throughout service
Support senior chefs with daily kitchen operations
Maintain a clean, organised and service-ready workstation
Assist with stock rotation, ordering, storage and inventory
Ensure food safety, hygiene and workplace procedures are followed
Work collaboratively across the kitchen to deliver an exceptional guest experience
Support and guide junior members of the kitchen team
Contribute to a positive, skilled and high-performing kitchen culture
