About the role
n
We are looking for a practical, hands-on Fabricator / Workshop Technician to join our team. We're after someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in their workmanship, and can look at a job and work out how to get it done. The ideal person will have fabrication experience, be comfortable using hand and power tools, and be able to read and understand basic wiring and electrical diagrams. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with good mechanical aptitude who enjoys variety and solving problems.

Key responsibilities
n
Fabricating and assembling components and equipment
n
Reading and interpreting drawings, plans and wiring diagrams
n
Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment
n
Cutting, drilling, grinding and modifying materials
n
Basic wiring and electrical installation work where required
n
Fault finding and problem solving
n




Measuring, fitting and assembling components accurately
n
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area
n
Working independently as well as part of a team
n
About you
n
Have experience in fabrication, mechanical work, electrical work or a similar hands-on trade
n
Be able to read and understand wiring diagrams and technical drawings
n
Have strong practical and mechanical aptitude
n
Be confident using hand and power tools
n
Have good attention to detail and take pride in their work
n
Be able to troubleshoot problems and think outside the box
n
Be reliable, punctual and have a positive work ethic
n
Be comfortable working independently
n
Be willing to learn new skills and take on different types of work
n
Trade qualifications are preferred but not essential for the right person
