The Making Corporation has been exclusively engaged to appoint a Group Financial Controller to a privately owned, award-winning construction and property business with a proud multi-decade legacy across South East Queensland.

The role
n
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and Group CFO, you will own the day-to-day financial management, accounting, cashflow reporting, payroll management and operational governance of the finance function, leading a small team of finance support and administration staff.

Your remit spans month-end close, full P&L; oversight,



balance sheet and cash flow management; budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling across project pipelines; internal controls, statutory compliance and audit readiness; and commercial partnering with project managers, construction and development teams to inform decision-making as the pipeline grows.

About you
n
You are CA / CPA qualified (or equivalent) with a minimum of ten years' post-qualification financial management experience, and a robust preference will be given to candidates with a background in construction, property development or building. You bring depth in financial reporting, statutory compliance and audit management, experience leading a small team and driving process improvement, and ideally exposure to multi-entity structures.

Just as importantly, you are steady under pressure, commercially astute, transparent, and build trusted relationships easily across disciplines. You are seeking a career mandate of longevity, trust and succession but through loyalty and performance.

The role is based at the company's headquarters in Yatala, equally accessible for Gold Coast and Brisbane based candidates.
