Painter and Decorator – Marsden Park NSW Kogan People Solutions, recruiters, are assisting a well-regarded residential building firm as they recruit an experienced Painter and Decorator, based in Marsden Park NSW. About our client: Our client is an established residential building firm delivering high-quality building projects across Sydney and beyond. Their work includes new homes, renovations, granny flats and duplex developments, with a strong focus on quality finishes, attention to detail and workmanship.

With a healthy pipeline of residential projects, they are now seeking another skilled and qualified Painter and Decorator to join their team on a full-time basis. Tenure: Full time and ongoing. Salary: Negotiable in the range of $80,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation per annum.

Location: Based in Marsden Park NSW, with travel to residential building sites across Sydney and beyond as required. Duties will include:
n
n
Carry out interior and exterior painting and decorating work to a high standard across new homes, renovations, granny flats and duplexes.
n
Prepare surfaces for painting, including washing, scraping, sanding, filling, smoothing and other required preparation work.
n
Mix and match paints and finishes to achieve required colours and specifications.
n
Apply paints, varnishes, stains and other protective and decorative coatings to interior and exterior surfaces.
n
Apply appropriate primers, sealers and undercoats according to surface requirements and specified finishes.
n
Work from building plans,



specifications, colour schedules and instructions to achieve required finishes.
n
Protect surrounding surfaces, fixtures and completed building work throughout preparation and painting.
n
Safely erect and use ladders, scaffolding and other equipment required to work at height.
n
Identify, safely handle and appropriately dispose of paints, stains, preparation products and other potentially hazardous materials.
n
Maintain painting equipment and keep work areas clean, organised and safe.
n
Work closely with builders, trades and other team members to ensure painting works are completed efficiently and to the required standard.
n
Complete all work in accordance with WHS requirements and company procedures.

To be considered, you need to be able to demonstrate the following attributes and strengths:
n
n
Possess a relevant trade Certificate Level IV or agreed substitute.
n
Have a minimum of one or more years of working experience in the field since you acquired your qualifications.
n
Be well experienced in all aspects of the painting and decorating trade.
n
Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and take pride in producing high-quality residential finishes.
n
Have robust communication skills with a focus on teamwork, patience and empathy.
n
Be comfortable working in a team or independently.
n
A current driver's licence is essential.
n
Be eager to secure a full-time salaried position (this role is not suitable for subcontractors).
n
n
You must have unrestricted full-time Australian working rights to be considered.
