About the opportunity

Medstar Nursing Care is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a contract placement at a residential aged care facility in Nowra, NSW.
n
This opportunity offers flexible temporary work while allowing you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older people. You will deliver protected, compassionate and person-centred care that supports residents' dignity, independence and quality of life.

Key responsibilities
n
Assess residents' clinical needs and develop, implement and evaluate individualised care plans
n
Administer medications safely and monitor their effectiveness
n
Conduct clinical assessments, monitor vital signs and report changes in residents' conditions
n
Identify and respond appropriately to clinical deterioration
n
Collaborate with doctors, allied health professionals, care workers and other members of the multidisciplinary team
n
Maintain accurate and timely clinical notes and resident records
n
Communicate respectfully with residents and their families regarding care needs and treatment plans
n
Provide wound care, catheter management and other clinical procedures as required
n
Support and supervise personal care workers and other care team members
n
Follow infection prevention and control procedures
n
Maintain a safe, respectful and hygienic environment for residents and staff
n
Ensure care is delivered in accordance with facility policies, professional standards and the Aged Care Quality Standards
n
Requirements
n




Current Registered Nurse registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia through AHPRA
n
At least six months' experience as a Registered Nurse in residential aged care
n
Current National Police Check
n
Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain it before commencing
n
Full Australian working rights
n
Strong clinical assessment, judgement and problem-solving skills
n
Sound knowledge of residential aged care standards and regulatory requirements
n
Clear and compassionate communication skills
n
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
n
Commitment to confidentiality, professional conduct and resident dignity
n
Availability to work adaptable shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays when required
n
Experience using electronic clinical documentation or aged care management systems is preferred
n
