About us:

Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service provide an extensive range of health services at more than 30 regional, rural and remote facilities across a geographical area of 142,900 square kilometres. The Health Service is 95 percent self-sufficient with only a small number of high-level acute services being provided in Townsville and Brisbane.
n
The Health Service is the primary provider of health services to residents of the Cairns, Tablelands and Cassowary Coast regions with a population of over 250,000 people, as well as providing specialist services to the Torres Strait and Cape York region. Cairns Hospital is the primary referral hospital for Far North Queensland.

About your opportunity:
n
In this position you will.....
n
n
Build trusting engagement with clients and families, identify cultural, social and practical barriers to care, support informed participation and advocate for culturally safe communication across services.
n
Conduct clinical procedures including client screening, assessment, measurement, observations and treatment and deliver clinical care services to individuals, families and the community/group homes/Emergency
Department/Hospital
wards and Nursing Homes in accordance with health service policies and standards under direction of Registered Nurse / Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC)
n
Undertake administrative tasks, restocking clinical stores,
fuelling the vehicle and maintenance of data and record management under direction of Registered Nurse / CNC.
n
Contribute to service evaluation, quality improvement, pathway development, culturally responsive health promotion and community engagement activities relevant to the HWF3 role.
n
Work collaboratively with the ACHS Team Leader, HWF4 Senior Health Worker, relevant Clinical Lead or registered clinician, professional leadership and cultural supervision arrangements, seeking support when required.
