Job Description
Credwell is seeking an experienced Principal Fire Engineer to lead complex fire engineering projects, mentor a growing team, and play a key role in the growth of our Fire Engineering practice.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically solid and commercially minded professional looking to combine project leadership, client engagement, and business influence within a respected multidisciplinary consultancy. We are looking for someone who is passionate about growing the fire engineering service line. The Role
n
You will:
n
n
Lead the delivery of fire engineering projects across commercial, residential, healthcare, education, industrial, and mixed-use developments.
n
Prepare and review Fire Engineering Briefs (FEBs), Fire Engineering Reports (FERs), Performance Solutions, and fire safety strategies.
n
Provide expert advice on NCC compliance, performance-based design, smoke management, evacuation analysis, and fire safety engineering.
n
Manage client relationships and engage with architects, developers, certifiers, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
n
Mentor and develop fire engineering staff while promoting technical excellence and quality outcomes.
n
Contribute to business development, proposal preparation, and the ongoing growth of Credwell's Fire Engineering capability.

About You
n
n
Degree qualified in Fire Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
n
5+ years' experience in fire engineering consulting.
n
Currently a Chartered Professional Engineer with NSW state registration as a Certifier - Fire safety (C10) or ability to register within the state of NSW.
n
Currently or capable of becoming a Design Practitioner – Fire Safety Engineering with experience in projects subject to Design Building Practitioners Act (Class 2, 3 & 9c buildings).
n
Strong knowledge of the NCC, Australian Standards, and performance-based fire engineering.
n
Proven experience delivering complex projects and leading client relationships.
n
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and report writing skills.
n
Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop engineers.
n
CPEng, NER, RPEQ, or equivalent professional registration highly regarded.
