Lead and manage complex software and firmware projects.

Requires Australian citizen and ability to obtain defence clearance.

Must be based in Sydney.

About the Role
n
We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex Defence projects from development through to delivery.
n
You will manage multidisciplinary teams working on new products, including optical, navigation and sensor technologies for military and guided weapon applications.
n
You will work closely with customers, defence stakeholders, suppliers, subcontractors and international teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required standards.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Lead and manage complex defence projects.
n
Manage multidisciplinary teams across engineering, software, electronics and manufacturing.
n
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets and milestones.
n
Manage project risks, issues, resources and dependencies.
n
Oversee projects from product design and development through to manufacturing and delivery.
n
Represent the business at key reviews and meetings.
n
Manage suppliers, subcontractors and external resources.
n
Prepare project reports, forecasts and Estimate-to-Complete (ETC) analysis.
n
Ensure contractual requirements and project obligations are met.
n
Support continuous improvement of project management processes and systems.
n
Monitor project and technology maturity against customer requirements.
n

Skills & Experience
n
n
Significant experience managing complex engineering, technology or Defence projects.
n




Experience managing new product development projects involving electronics, embedded systems, firmware and/or software.
n
Previous experience managing software development projects.
n
Strong project planning, scheduling, budgeting and cost management skills.
n
Solid risk management and problem-solving skills.
n
Experience managing suppliers, subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
n
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
Experience with defence contracts is highly desirable. Understanding of agile or iterative project delivery is desirable.
n
You must be an Australian citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence security clearance.
n
