Logging and Grade Control Drilling Geologist

We are looking for a Logging Geologist - Grade Control who will be responsible for supporting grade control drilling and sampling programs to ensure accurate ore definition, quality control during Grade control drilling.
n
This role will provide critical field-based geological logging, sampling supervision, QA/QC oversight, and data capture to support production targets and maintain ore quality standards and will work closely with mining operations, survey and drilling team.
n

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
n
Grade Control Drilling & Logging
n
Log bauxite grade control drill holes accurately and efficiently in accordance with geological logging standards.
n
Identify lithology, ore boundaries, contaminants (e.g., pisolite variation, Ironstone), and ensure drilling to correct depth for every drill hole.
n
Supervise sampling processes to ensure representative samples.
n
Ensure correct sample labelling, dispatch, and tracking.
n
QA/QC & Data Management
n
Conduct QA/QC checks on drilling and sampling activities
n
Validate geological data prior to database entry.
n




Assist in maintaining geological databases and ensuring data integrity.
n
Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with site safety management systems.
n
Promote proactive hazard identification and risk mitigation.
n
Maintain compliance with environmental approvals and operational boundaries.
n
ABOUT YOU:
n
Required
n
Tertiary qualification in Geology or Earth Sciences preferred not essential
n
Experience in grade control logging (preferably in bauxite or lateritic deposits).
n
Strong understanding of sampling protocols and QA/QC procedures.
n
Ability to work autonomously in a remote operational environment.
n
Solid data management and analytical skills.
n
Highly Regarded
n
Experience in bauxite or other bulk commodity operations
n
Familiarity with geological logging software and mining databases
n
Experience working within active production mining environments.
n
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and geological logging software systems i.e. Geobank.
n
This role is a 15:13 FIFO roster arrangement.
n
