Job Description
Traffic signals, road lighting and roadside technology quietly keep thousands of people moving safely every day. This role puts your electrical skills behind that essential network.

Based from Brisbane's eastern industrial corridor, you'll work across the metropolitan area installing, testing and maintaining the electrical infrastructure used to manage Brisbane's roads.

The immediate need is for Electricians available for a four-night working week, generally Monday to Thursday, with some Sunday night work possible. Applications will be reviewed as they are received, with suitable Electricians progressing quickly to assessment.

What You'll Do
n
n
Install and maintain traffic signals and roadway lighting.
n
Test, diagnose and repair electrical faults.
n
Work on roadside technology, communications and monitoring equipment.
n
Complete electrical work safely across changing metropolitan worksites.

What You Need
n
You need this sorted before you start:
n
n
Current Queensland Electrical Mechanic licence
n
Current LVR/CPR
n
Construction White Card
n
Current Queensland C-class driver's licence
n
Availability for night shift and travel across Brisbane
n
Confidence completing electrical testing and fault finding
n
Ability to complete the required practical skills assessment and pre-employment checks
n
n
Experience in traffic signals, road lighting, infrastructure, industrial maintenance, field service, control systems or communications will be helpful.
n
An MR licence, EWP licence over 11 metres, Working in Proximity to Traffic competencies or ACMA cabling registration will also be viewed favourably, but are not essential for every applicant.
n
The Roster and Rates
n
The immediate requirement is a four-night week, generally Monday to Thursday, with the possibility of Sunday night work.
n

Night shift: $75 to $78 per hour
n
Ordinary day shift: $50 to $52 per hour
n
38-hour working week
n
Initial engagement through to 18 December ****
n
Potential six-month extension, subject to operational requirements
n
Other day, night, weekend or callout work may become available depending on the work program.
n
n
About the Workplace

you'll join an experienced infrastructure team responsible for electrical assets that directly support the safety and operation of Brisbane's road network.
n
The work is varied, purposeful and completed across multiple metropolitan locations. You'll see the direct result of what you install, maintain and return to service.

Selection Process
n
Shortlisted applicants will complete a practical electrical skills assessment before progressing to interview.
n
Successful applicants will also complete licence and competency verification, reference checks, a criminal-history check, medical and functional assessment, and drug and alcohol screening.
