We're partnering with an AU organisation looking for an experienced Platform Architect to own the infrastructure side of their private cloud environment. We're ideally after someone from a medium or small enterprise, private cloud or hosting operator background, who's used to moving rapid and owning outcomes end to end.

Our client is a lean boutique, and the role needs someone who lives this stuff. Someone not afraid to get on the tools and build if they have to, a go getter who's as comfortable with a client as with a team of engineers. I'm ideally looking for an architect who hasn't been off the tools, or a principal engineer who can also produce HLDs and drive architecture decisions.

What you'll be doing
n
n
Designing and building Linux infrastructure and private cloud environments
n
Working across OpenStack, virtualisation, compute and storage
n
Architecting networking, segmentation, load balancing and high availability
n
Applying Kubernetes and containers where it makes sense, not just for the sake of it
n
Driving automation through Terraform, Puppet and IaC
n
Designing CI/CD pipelines and deployment architecture
n
Building observability,



logging and monitoring into everything you design
n
Planning backup, disaster recovery, resilience and capacity
n
Managing IAM, secrets and certificates
n
Implementing security architecture in practice, not just on paper
n
Designing platform patterns for applications like Django, RabbitMQ and PostgreSQL
n
Architecting dev, staging and production environments
n
Translating application architecture into real, working infrastructure
n
Producing HLDs, LLDs and clear architecture decisions
n
Working closely with Application teams, Security Architects and DevOps
n
n
What we're after
n
n
Ideally someone with recent hands-on experience in a medium or small enterprise, private cloud or hosting operator environment.
n
Someone equally comfortable in a room with a client or a room with engineers and the ability to explain technical concepts in language that lands with the audience in front of you.
n
A go getter, someone who takes ownership rather than waiting to be told what to build
n
