About the Role:
n
We are seeking Process Technicians to support secure, reliable and continuous production withRio Tinto at the Boyne Smelter.
n
These are hands-on, physically demanding roles in a heavy industrial environment. Duties will vary and may include:
n
n
Workplace inspections and general housekeeping
n
Manual handling, cleaning and plant maintenance activities
n
Working around high-temperature processes and molten materials
n
Operating fixed plant, overhead cranes and other equipment
n
Supporting casting and production activities
n
Forklift and mobile equipment operations
n
Monitoring automated plant and responding to operational issues
n
Supporting maintenance, quality and isolation activities
n
Completing training and following SWIs/SOPs
n
n
About YouYou will be physically capable, safety-focused and comfortable working in heat, dust, noise and high-risk industrial environments.
n
You will have:
n
n
Robust physical fitness and manual handling capability
n
Excellent safety and situational awareness
n
Ability to follow procedures and radio communications
n




Strong teamwork and communication skills
n
Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights where required
n
Ability to wear full PPE and respiratory protection
n
Previous experience in mining, smelting, manufacturing, production, construction, labouring or other heavy industrial environments is highly regarded
n
Forklift and gantry/overhead crane experience is desirable
n
n
Medical & Physical RequirementsA pre-employment medical is mandatory and includes spirometry, hearing and physical fitness assessments.
n
The role requires respiratory protection, regular stair climbing, prolonged walking and standing, and physically demanding manual work.
n
Candidates must meet all pre-employment, medical, physical fitness and operational requirements of the role to progress.
